If a book is due back on 14 February we would like
to give customers all day (ie until 23:59) to renew their book via
TALISmsg.
We are also using Item Request and are
running three updates per day at 8 pm, noon and 4 pm.
When a branch, shall we say Camelford, really closes at 1 pm we are
faced with a dilemma - do we set the closing time at 23:59 which is
great for the book renewers but less good for Camelford in that an item
request report will be uselessly generated at a time when they are not
at work.
Alternatively if we set the closing time at the real time of 1 pm -
then no item request report will be generated but automated telephone
renewers will have to pay a fine (or least have a debate) should they
call at 3 pm.
We would be interested to know what others do in this situation?
