We are interested in allowing self-collection of reserved items - but in Talis they are on loan to the Res. shelf, and have to be discharged before being issued to the borrower. This means that self-issue is not allowable, as the item iwould already on loan.

Has anyone cracked this, so that a self-issue terminal can allow direct issue to the reservee? We are using 3M Self check 6210's.

Thanks,

Dear Roger,

This is a very interesting scenario that we have somehow not looked into because we assumed that borrowers have no access to the reservation shelf. If you think this scenario is important to your library's operation then please submit a PER and we will either include it in the next selfserv version or, if urgent, provide you ASAP with a patch. We will make it optional so that libraries can choose the policy that best fits their operations.

The selfcheck's type is irrelevant.

Best Regards,

Zak

Thanks for the advice Zak. A PER has been submitted.

All the best,
Mike

Dear Roger,

we are planning to add this feature to our next release (possibly after Christmas) but we don't have an exact release date yet.

Best regards,

Zak
