We have had a recent spate of records rejected with the message "not 'text/xml' but 'text/html'" and discovered the errant character to be a diacritic in one of the 700 fields. (Oddly the same diacritic appears in 500 fields and doesn't cause a problem).

Examples in the last week: 024=5017239142420, 5055002503450, 5055201815835. I am not aware of this being a problem in the past - certainly not on this scale.

Yes, we can corect them on an ad hoc basis - but as these are records on TalisBase (I think from BDS) would it be possible to correct (or prevent) the error at source?
